One of the coolest things about doing radio every day is getting to discover new music and spin songs that get stuck in your head—in the best way possible. Every week, I’m going to share three tracks that are either in rotation here on Q102 or just something living on my personal playlist that I think you need to check out.
This isn’t a “Top 40 countdown,” and it’s not about the charts—it’s just about the songs that are hitting me right now, and maybe they’ll hit you the same way.
Here are this week’s three tracks that I can’t get enough of:
Good Charlotte – Stepper
Good Charlotte are officially BACK with their new album Motel Du Cap! The rumors had been swirling for a while, and it’s great to finally have fresh music from the guys. I’ve been really into Stepper, one of the singles off the record—the track hits hard, and the video is a blast to watch.
Sleep Theory – Gravity
Sleep Theory recently stopped by the station while they were in town performing with Nevertel at The Regency. The band was kind enough to join us for a Tiny Room Concert Series episode, and it was a fantastic experience meeting with them.
I’ve been really enjoying their new album, Gravity. The songwriting is powerful, the lyrics stand out, and the music carries a strong nu-metal energy that feels both fresh and familiar. Definitely a record worth diving into.
Goo Goo Dolls – Keep The Car Running (Live)
I’ve been a fan of the Goo Goo Dolls since my junior high days, and Dizzy Up the Girl will always stand out as such an important release—not just for the band, but for that entire era of music.
To be honest, I drifted away from their newer material over the years as they leaned more into a pop-driven sound. Personally, I think the Goo Goo Dolls are at their best when they sound like a full band, not layered in electronic drums and pop effects.
This track from Magnetic really reinforces that feeling for me. Either way, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
